On the Second Day After Christmas
The familiar term, Emmanuel, is generously sung and spoken at Christmas time. Its meaning, God is with us, is for all times. This year’s designated Christmas day has come and gone. What about the songs? What about Christ, himself? Today’s podcast is a reading from Psalms 95 and 96. It’s an invitation to continue worshiping and praising God not only at Christmas, but each and every day. Each day truly can be Christmas.

Happy Thanksgiving
First and foremost, I wish you a wonderful day and weekend of Thanksgiving. Without a doubt, much is upside down in our neighborhoods, towns and cities, states, nation, the world and, perhaps, even our own homes and families. Yet, when we take the time to reflect, we can still be thankful. It’s a choice; one to be made each and every day.

Can I offer you some lemon water?
Why should you drink lemon water? It’s an excellent idea to consider adding lemon water to your daily self-care routine. What Does ‘Walking with God’ Mean?
Many speak of “walking with God.” In the Bible’s fifth chapter of Deuteronomy, verse 33 says, “You shall walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may go well with you, and that you may live long…” Walking with God is a lifestyle. Stormie Omartian’s Learning to Walk With God shares a candid perspective for ‘whosoever will’ to embrace.

How Are Your Emotions?
Emotions are a strong part of our make-up. Did you ever consider how much they dictate the view we have of ourselves and our every day relationships? David Seamands’ in Healing Damaged Emotions says “events in our lives, both good and bad, form rings in us like the rings in a tree. Each ring records memories that affect our feelings, our relationships, and our thoughts about God.” Today’s segment will initiate the fact that the “past doesn’t have to hurt the present.”

What’s My Purpose?
We all have a purpose. Are you aware of yours? Stormie Omartian’s You Have a Great Purpose is the subject of this week’s encouragement. In the midst of endless and often contradicting perspectives found in articles, books, blogs, movies, talk shows, and endless social media, who we are and what’s meant for us, as individuals, gets lost. They tell us who we are and who we should be. Still, there’s a sense that what’s being said doesn’t fit YOU. So, the question ‘what is your purpose?’ begs further contemplation and, ultimately, a response.

April Bids a Fresh Adieu
This morning, we will focus on the fact that even in the times of our lives that we call ‘bad,’ God is still good. I hope that Stormie Omartian’s reflection on this will encourage you for what lies ahead for you as we prepare to enter a brand new month; during this week, this day, and even this very moment. In fact, Remembering God’s Goodness in Bad Times launches the first of a number of Omartian’s readings that I will share with you.
