Tips to help your overall well-being

  1. Sleep

Restorative sleep helps you to avoid feeling lethargic all day and helps you to concentrate better. It also gives your body the opportunity to rejuvenate. A lack of sleep, especially over time, will not only mount the fatigue but cause your health to suffer.

If you find yourself stressed, on an emotional roller coaster, and/or unable to concentrate, check the amount of sleep you’ve been averaging. Seven to 8 hours per night is still the recommendation that will help you reap the best overall benefits.

  1. Eat well

The busyness of life has resulted in more and more people regularly grabbing a quick fast food or packaged meal for dinner. While these shortcuts may seem to save time, ultimately, they are very unhealthy choices. Ready meals, processed food, and junk food are loaded with sugar, fat, salt and many more calories than our bodies need. These foods also tend to be heavily processed. Their nutritional value is practically non-existent. Purpose to make your meals from scratch. A healthy chicken breast with vegetables on the side is one example of a simple but healthy option.

  1. Hydrate

Do you suffer from headaches? If you aren’t drinking 7-10 glasses of water each day you’re likely dehydrated. So, fill ’em up with some more aqua-ade. An excellent prompt, that works quite well, is to have 1-2 glasses of water every time you go into your kitchen. Sufficient water intake has a very positive effect on your overall health as well as your skin’s appearance.

  1. Exercise

An easy solution to this often procrastinated event is to just step out of your front door. You can walk anywhere. Consider involving your entire family for a walk around the block or to a park. This gentle exercise will give you a good cardio workout. If done outdoors, you’ll enjoy the fresh air as well as reboot your brain and muscles. Walking can become a nice morning or evening ritual. It doesn’t take long for it to become an anticipated habit and treat.

5. Relax

How often do you just sit and exhale? Just a few minutes of intentional and concentrated breathing will leave you feeling more relaxed and alert. Over time, scheduling the time to exhale (at least once a day), will foster a calmer and better feeling YOU.
